That's odd... my little Nine-Sixty-Five's drag is set to twenty-eight-pounds right from the factory... hmm.

I use the Penn for my own bass fishing. On the same rod as you got. It matches BEAUTIFULLY. It's heavier than the other three, but Go**amn it, it is built like a tank compared to those others. And it's built right here in the good ol' U.S. of A. which is another good thing. And with the name Penn International, y'know damn well it can handle saltwater a hell of a lot better. I've been using mine for largemouth bass for the past three or four years now, and I have yet to experience any problems with it, whether they be bearing, drag, gears, or levelwind problems. None at all whatsoever.

The Penn is thirty-dollars more than the Calcutta, same price as the Curado, and thirty-dollars cheaper than the REVO. It may not be as smooth as the Curado or the Winch, but it's smooth enough.
