Striped Bass. Striper's. Rock fish. Linesiders. Here are some home appliances. There is a certain mystique about the striper that makes everyone want to catch them. It's a beautiful fish, anyone who has seen one fresh out of the water with the sun shining off their silvery sides will agree.Catching them can be another matter entirely, though. There are a lot of "bottom fishermen" who may be switching to bass fishing in 2008 due to the possible regulations that could be applied to flounder, scup, and other species as a result of lawsuits by environmentalist groups. Fishing for bass is quite different from bottom fishing.Bass are aggressive feeders at certain times of the day and also when large amounts of bait are around. This is usually pretty easy to spot, as bait will be jumping as the bass feed upon them. Its a matter of motoring up and slowing down before you get too close and casting an appropriate lure in among them.Don't make the mistake of going right into or through the area of feeding fish, this is the quickest way to put an end to the fishing. Under these conditions a top water plug or soft plastic that matches the size and shape of the iphone case is a good choice.

Cast in, and as soon as you hit the water, close up and begin a retrieve. Don't move it too fast unless they are bluefish.Early morning is normally a very good time for bass, they will feed in the shallows near some kind of structure (rocks, drop offs, humps), usually when there is a current to sweep helpless bait past them.At this time top water plugs can be very productive because of the low light conditions. If it's going to be overcast or foggy that day, so much the better for the bass fishing. Top water plugs should be surface swimmers, poppers, or walkers in white. They should be worked as if they are injured, occasionally stopping them during the retrieve. It's so cool when the fish smashes that surface plug, splashing, rolling, then running like hell.My favorite kind of bass fishing.Once there is a good amount of light and the top water plugs stop producing, its time to switch to soft plastics and probably move into an area of structure in deeper water. Current is again important, the bass depend on this to sweep food past them and when the current is weak or non-existent you can normally expect that the bass won't be aggressive, you have to bang them off the nose then to get a home theatre.

Peacock bass fishing, or fishing for the butterfly peacock or speckled peacock, is exciting freshwater fishing. These bass are natives of the Amazon River of South America and can also be found in the waters of Colombia, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Panama, Singapore and warmer locations in the USA.

The peacock bass fishing began when this species of bass was intentionally put into the freshwaters of Florida by fish and game officials to help rid their waters of fish such as the Oscar, Midas cichlid, and the spotted tilapia. Due to the warm water conditions in particular areas of Florida, the butterfly peacock bass have flourished. These tropical fish cannot survive in lower water temperatures.

Peacock bass fishing started after these fish were dropped into the warmer freshwaters of Florida in 1984 by fish and game officials to go after environmentally destructive fish like the Oscar, Midas cichlid, and the spotted tilapia. Due to the warm water conditions in particular areas of Florida the peacock bass have vigorously grown in population. The peacock bass love temperate locations and cannot tolerate colder water temperatures.

Scheduling a peacock bass fishing trip with one of the many guides in Florida is affordable and relatively easy. The serious peacock bass fisherman should consider planning a trip of a lifetime to the Amazon River or to the lakes and rivers of Venezuela. This is the ultimate in peacock bass fishing. Imagine fishing with the sounds of the jungle in the background and parrots and monkeys greeting you at every turn.

The peacock bass can be hooked by fly fishing, artificial or live bait fishing. They prefer live bait and can be located during daylight hours. It is recommended to use a fly rod with 5 or 6 weight depending on where you are fishing. Good reels, high quality line with fast action rods and sharp hooks to penetrate quickly are necessary. Fly fishing equipment can be provided by the guide if preferred. A good pair of Polaroid glasses will allow you to spot these beautiful fish as they hit. The fierce and powerful peacock bass guarantees the thrill of an exciting fishing battle. Each day will provide an angler with a chance hooking up to 10 or 20 of these fish and bagging at least one 15 pounder.

The emotional excitement of peacock bass fishing is invigorating. The excitement of hooking up to this aggressive fighter and landing it is worth the cost of the trip.
After successful day of peacock bass fishing imagine taking home a keepsake replicate of this prize catch? The locals can produce such a lifelike replica of your catch that often they are better than most traditional skin mounts. The fisherman need only provide the taxidermist with a photo and measurements and he will produce a beautiful souvenir for you to take home.

You may have taken Florida fishing trips all your life and be a native Floridian, but if you have not had the thrill of hooking up to a renown fighting peacock bass you haven't fished!

The sport of peacock bass fishing is rapidly spreading after this bass was first introduced into the freshwaters of Florida in 1984 by fish and game officials to aid in the eradication of certain types of undesired fish. Due to the warm water conditions in particular areas of Florida these fish are flourishing. Being a tropical fish, the peacock bass, cannot tolerate lower water temperatures.

The Florida's peacock bass fishing industry has greatly benefited from the introduction of this fish into Florida's warmer fresh waters. They are a tough fighting fish and have been known to easily destroy many a fisherman's gear. They will strike hard and run out your line. Their aerial jumps make for exciting game fishing for the beginner or expert.

The exciting sport of peacock bass fishing can be done in several parts of the US, but many sport fisherman plan a once in a lifetime trip to the Amazon to catch the peacock bass in their natural habitat. This type of trip also offers a chance to experience the area's unique culture and landscape. They can also be located in the waters of Columbia, the Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Panama, and tropical islands of the U.S.

Flies, artificial or live bait can all be used to attrack the peacock bass. Some believe the most accurate method is to use live bait and fish during the daytime. A fly fishing rod and an extremely sharp hook enable a fisherman to hook this elusive fish on the first hit and then enjoy the fight. A locally trained guide should have most of what is necessary for a memorable peacock bass fishing trip.

In this article I want to share with you the best redfish fishing techniques and tips, but I want to also explain what the redfish actually is for the beginners.

First of all, let’s introduce ourselves to the topic of redfish fishing. What is refish and where you can find them? Refish also known as the red drum, is a salt water fish which can be found in the south-east of USA. People can easily recognize redfish by the black spot on their tails. Redfish inhabit shallow bays and esturaries, targeting crustaceans and baitfish. They are highly valued as a recreational fish. People who specialise in these fish are redfish anglers. They often take part in national tournaments that are similar to freshwater bass fishing competitions. You can find competitions in redfish fishing all over the gulf coast. I saw my first one on TV one Sunday morning and that was a first time I heard about redfish fishing..

For me redfish fishing is a whole world. Unfortunately, I don’t live in the south of USA, but I go there every year just for redfish fishing. I always take my whole family with me and we have a lot of fun. It is now our traditional family event. We all love it, because it’s both healthy, you are on a fresh air all day, and fun and it brings family together.

Ok, let’s move on to the refish fishing techniques. Red drum or redfish can be caught in many ways. Perhaps the best known for fishing redfish is to anchor along a channel edge or shoal and bottom fish with cut peeler crab bait or other baits including, squid, cut spot, live spot and even chicken breast soaked in peeler crab oil. These are all wonderful techniques.

In the Virginia, in areas like Pocomoke and Tangier Sounds, anglers usually look for a somewhat sharp drop and anchor so that the boat lies on the slope of the channel. This depth is only a starting point and can vary greatly.

Many anglers prefer to use the opportunity offered by the last 2 hours of the incoming current and the first 2 hours of the outgoing. If there is a dusk, the fishing is more likely to be good.

Other techniques for catching Virginia and Chesapeake Bay redfish include trolling large spoons in the lower bay areas.

Surf fishing is a popular way to catch redfish in Virginia. Along the Atlantic beaches and around Virginia barrier islands, anglers use a fish finder or other rig and fish with baits such as whole spot, spot fillets or heads, mullet, bluefish fillets, crabs, shrimp or other baits. There are numerous methods in redfish fishing.

I hope you liked this introductory article to the world of redfish fishing and you will join our ever growing community. Trust me on this, it is really a lot of fun. You should definitely check out at these incredible redfish fishing tips. These are the top techniques used by the pros now available to you. I’ve seen them and they are really cool. This has completely changed my life.

If you have been looking for a great guide with tons of tips on catching more bass and bigger bass “Better Bass Fishing” is the one to get. Its claims of being your “complete guide” are true. Whether you are a seasoned and skilled angler or a “greenhorn” this easy to understand book will fill you in on all the top bass fishing secrets.

"The Better Bass Fishing" e-book contains tips and techniques to help you land the most and biggest bass. Learn several of the secrets of bass fishing that tournament winners and professionals use. You will also discover the best baits to use in every situation.

Here are just a few of the better bass fishing secrets you will learn:

• You will learn how to think like a bass, which is one of the keys to knowing where to find the biggest largemouth bass.
• The specific tackle to use in any situation. Detailed info on crank baits, buzz baits, spinner baits, plastic worms etc.
• Where to fish under different weather conditions such as rainy days, windy days, early mornings, late afternoons or early evenings, on a crowded lake etc.
• How to avoid the 10 most common bass fishing mistakes that most fishermen make.
• How to choose the right Bass fishing rod.
• Discover successful Bass Fishing Patterns.
• Professional Night Bass Fishing methods.
• Professional Winter Bass Fishing techniques.
• And much more.

After reading Frazer Wheaton’s guide to catching bigger bass and more bass, I have discovered what a wonderful writer and educator he is. He has done tons of research for every aspect of this book which is obvious after reading the first few chapters. Most anglers keep their secrets to themselves, but Mr. Wheaton has most kindly shared his secret fishing skills with us.

If you want to impress your fishing buddies on your next bass fishing adventure, get this book. They will be amazed at how easily you locate the bass, that you have just the right gear, and how quickly you bag your limit. You may not want to share where you learned all your new found fishing knowledge, but unless you want to risk getting thrown overboard, I would seriously consider it.

When ordering this book, I would also recommend sending a copy to two or three of your fishing cronies.
