Key West Day 5 – Thursday

Following two poor days and with a freshening breeze making it impossible to fish the wrecks in the Gulf of Mexico, two boats decided to go out and fish for Yellowtail Snappers on the reef. Roy was with me, and Harry was with Keith. The fishing was good although we didn't manage to catch any bonus groupers and settled for between 300 and 400 lbs of Yellowtails between the two boats.

Tommy and Jim fished aboard Captain Pat's new boat and they decided to fish for Tarpon in the harbour. They certainly did better than we did a couple of days back and finished with 3 fish landed from 5 hooked. Tommy played a Tarpon for TWO HOURS before eventually landing it. Well done mate !.

Captain Pat has a beautiful new "Andrex Puppy" Golden Labrador. It's about 12 weeks old and he takes it out fishing with him. So Tommy's playing his Tarpon and the puppy does a poo right by Tommy's feet. Tommy didn't notice, and proceeded to wander all around the boat playing his fish and spreading dog poo everywhere !. That's no way to treat a brand new boat.
