The buzz developed from the announcement that Marukyu, the biggest bait company in Asia, is definitely coming over to the british isles is remarkable. Everyone really wants to have a go with these baits that they have heard so much about.

Maryuku is a 100 year old company and the world's largest bait creating enterprise. The companies state of the art computerised manufacturing unit is undoubtedly an amazing sight, and every one of their baits have been scientifically mixed from a host of pure ingredients. All of their baits are actually fish and environmentally friendly, specifically created by biologists with both the fisherman along with the fish themselves in mind.

Many of the baits and groundbaits distributed in britain tend to be formulated and refined from a small group of templates. A great many have identical characteristics and additionally, quite often, the same ingredients. This will likely end up being a problem when they're utilized given that - more than ever on pressurised waters - fish learn to connect their attributes with danger. This is sometimes a smell, a flavour, a colour or a consistency, but the final result will be the same…fish will certainly keep away from or disregard most of these baits.

Fish from the carp family tend to be the main goal of Asian fishermen, so it's no real shock that baits intended for the united kingdom market, but including components which include Silkworm Pupae (Sanagi), Water Snails (Tanishi) and Seaweed (Nori) have all proven to be highly successful in field testing right here in the united kingdom.

EFG140 is Marukyu's most complicated bait, formulated from 57 principal constituents, inclusive of Tanishi (water snails). It is also hugely versatile. When mixed with water at the advised ratio of 2 parts bait with one part water, it is very sticky having a slow-moving break down speed. However, mix at a 3-1 proportion and it turns into an explosive mixture, and also at 1-1 it can also be made into a paste which is perfect whenever fishing the very soft paste so popular with top match anglers.

Marukyu has been specialising in silkworm chrysalis baits for many years.

In Japanese they are know as SANAGI. Marukyu is legendary inside Japan due to the high quality SANAGI baits. The majority of Marukyu's baits feature plenty of silkworm chrysalis.

Marukyu has developed a large number of individual different types of silkworm pupae baits for a wide assortment of situations. They may be utilized independently or maybe also used as a secret additive in your specialized mixes.

SANAGI work great as bait due to their high protein content, together with their unique smell. Fish happen to be naturally drawn to high protein sources, plus the scent associated with silkworm chrysalis additionally holds its own appeal to them.

Every one of the Marukyu baits and additives can be bought on the web at Fish Friendly Baitsсондажи

Shock horror, we woke up to pouring rain. Luckily it only lasted 10 minutes and it's been sunny for the rest of the day, although it's been pretty breezy again. Keith had made prior arrangements to go and make a film in Islamorada, and Harry has now left us to begin the holiday with his wife, Wendy, who flew in last night. That left just 4 of us. Tommy & Roy fished aboard Jack Kelly's boat and Jim and I fished with Damon.

Tommy and Roy fished the harbour for tarpon. The final score was Roy 2, Tommy 1 and Jack 1. Tommy also had a kingfish about 20 lb. It was quite a hard day wherever you fished today. We could hear the various skippers over the radio bitching about the poor fishing. It happens, that's the beauty of fishing for as many days as we do, we can suffer the odd bad day and still get lots of good ones. I feel sorry for anybody who has only booked a single day and happens to hit one of these doldrums days.

Jim and I fished with Damon and we went offshore again looking for sailfish. It was a slow old day. Jim hooked a hammerhead shark which he played for about 30 minutes before it cut through the leader. I lost a nutty sailfish that was probably only on the line for a couple of minutes. It spent the whole time tail-walking from one side of the boat, right around the back and eventually came adrift on the opposite side to the one where it was hooked. I know that sailfish jump a lot but this was ridiculous, its display of aerial antics had us in stitches. I did manage to land a nice tuna plus a baracuda and lost one other unseen enemy.

We're hoping that this wind will drop which will enable us to get out in the Gulf and fish some of the wrecks but the forecast isn't too hopeful at the moment.

Today we split into two teams of three. It was quite breezy again with the temperature in the low eighties.

Harry, Keith and Jim were aboard Damon's boat. They started off fishing offshore for sailfish, with Jim catching a kingfish and Harry catching a sailfish. They then moved back nearer to the harbour and Keith caught a tarpon. Not the greatest of days but its still better than a day at work...or even a day fishing in the UK in the pouring rain.

Tommy, Roy and myself went shark fishing on board Chris's boat. We had a slow start but after about 40 minutes I hooked and landed a nurse shark of around 200 lbs. Now the nurse shark doesn't have the teeth or the fighting abilities of some of the other sharks but anything of that size puts up a fair old fight. Shortly afterwards Roy landed a nurse shark, then Tommy lost something after a long struggle which might have been another shark species, it certainly gave him the run around. Another nurse shark each to Roy and I plus another long losing battle for Tommy and we were getting worried. There were hordes of nurse sharks around the boat. We had a couple of dead baracuda and kingfish hanging from a rope on the bow of the boat and the sharks were attacking it continually. We took it in turns to bash them on the head with a broomstick handle but even though you could hear the "thunk" as you hit the shark on it's head it would just turn away only to return a couple of minutes later. It seemed as though there were waves of sharks just waiting to attack our bait, at one time there were 12 sharks milling around the front of the boat. In the end they won, we moved to another spot that was devoid of nurse sharks but sadly it was virtually devoid of all sharks, in about 2 hours fishing we saw one big black shape creeping up behind our baits but it sheered off and that was that. A brilliant day, people would have paid good money to go out and watch those sharks, we got a private showing for free !.

Following two poor days and with a freshening breeze making it impossible to fish the wrecks in the Gulf of Mexico, two boats decided to go out and fish for Yellowtail Snappers on the reef. Roy was with me, and Harry was with Keith. The fishing was good although we didn't manage to catch any bonus groupers and settled for between 300 and 400 lbs of Yellowtails between the two boats.

Tommy and Jim fished aboard Captain Pat's new boat and they decided to fish for Tarpon in the harbour. They certainly did better than we did a couple of days back and finished with 3 fish landed from 5 hooked. Tommy played a Tarpon for TWO HOURS before eventually landing it. Well done mate !.

Captain Pat has a beautiful new "Andrex Puppy" Golden Labrador. It's about 12 weeks old and he takes it out fishing with him. So Tommy's playing his Tarpon and the puppy does a poo right by Tommy's feet. Tommy didn't notice, and proceeded to wander all around the boat playing his fish and spreading dog poo everywhere !.

What a difference a single day makes. The wind had increased slightly and had shifted from its previous direction of Easterly to blow from the North. The fish just switched off and all of our team struggled to get the fish to bite.

Harry was with Tom & Jim on board Manny's boat. They started off fishing for Tarpon, the fish won three nil !. They then moved out to the Permit Patch at Western where they managed to catch 3 Permit. They ended their day by catching some bait for the following day's adventure.

Roy fished with Chris Gadsden on Captain Chris's boat. They fished for Tarpon throughout the day being slightly more successful than the first team with a score of 3 tarpon landed from 7 hooked.

I fished with Keith aboard Damon's boat. With a tarpon landed on the very first cast, I was quietly confident of having a good day. I didn't have another bite !. Keith hooked one about 30 minutes later but the fish managed to snag him on the bottom. That was the last action that he saw for the day. We too went bait catching near the end of the day and caught loads of bait ready for Sailfish fishing on the following day.
